LEA WHARF EARNS HIGHLY COMMENDED AT HOUSEBUILDER AWARDS

Chase New Homes celebrated success at this year’s Housebuilder Awards, securing ‘Highly Commended’ in recognition for their Hertford development, Lea Wharf, in the ‘Best design for four storeys or more’ category.

Held on Thursday 31st October, The Housebuilder Awards welcomed over 650 guests at the InterContinental London, with the evening hosted by comedian Katherine Ryan. These awards, now in their 20th year, celebrate excellence in all aspects of the UK new homes sector, including in customer satisfaction, marketing, design, staff development, regeneration and sustainability.

Lea Wharf received a highly commended award in the ‘Best design for four storeys or more’ category. Chase New Homes has transformed this pocket of an important heritage town, pulling the community down to the riverside and introducing a lively river frontage. Providing 98 high-specification one and two-bedroom apartments to buy and to rent, set across five storeys in each building, and a new retail and leisure quarter on the ground floor which is being occupied by well-known high street brands.

Matt Lofting, Head of Sales at Chase New Homes, comments: “The award demonstrates Chase New Homes commitment to designing beautiful homes and outstanding places to live and we are incredibly proud to be recognised for this achievement. Our dedicated team are driven by a passion to enhance the lives of the residents, whilst honouring the local community by ensuring the development blends in seamlessly; something we are very proud to say we have achieved at Lea Wharf.”

The exterior design celebrates Lea Wharf’s waterside location – on the edge of the River Lea – and integrates beautifully with the historic buildings that neighbour the development. The buildings are reminiscent of historic dockland warehouses, with attractive light brick facades, and recessed balconies, interjected with impressive arched, black framed aluminium windows that provide shadow and depth across the elevations. Striking features and traditional Wharf elements, such as black dock doors, winches, and a metal ‘sky bridge’ that spans the distance from one block to the other complete the attractive aesthetic.
